Opening the energy centers
This is a meditation that will purify and heal your body, it will make your energy centers flow. It is an excellent meditation to do in the morning when you wake up, or at the start of your meditation period, or whenever you want to be relaxed and clear. Lie on your back with the arms along your body or with your hands folded on your stomach. Close your eyes, relax and breathe calmly, deeply and slowly.
Imagine that the crown of your head is surrounded by a glowing sphere of golden light. Breathe in and out five times deeply and slowly, focusing on the light sphere and feeling it shine from the crown of your head.
Now move your attention down to your throat. Imagine again that a golden orb is flowing out of the region of your throat. Breathe in slowly five times, in and out, your attention drawn to this light.
Slide your attention down to the center of your chest. Imagine again that the golden light radiates from the center of your chest. Breathe in and out five times deeply, as you feel the energy expand.
Then focus your attention on your solar plexus; visualize the sphere of golden light around your waist. Breathe in slowly.
Now visualize that the light glows in and around the region of your pelvis. Take another five deep breaths, and feel how the light energy radiates and expands.
And finally, visualize that the glowing orb is around your feet and breathe in again five times.
Now imagine that all orbs are glowing simultaneously so that your body is like a string of gems radiating energy.
Take a deep breath, and imagine exhale that the energy flows down outside along the left side of your body from your crown to feet. As you breathe in, you imagine the energy flowing up outside along the right side of your body to your crown. Let the energy circulate around your body three times in this way.
Then visualize that the energy flow from your crown drops down the front of your body to your feet as you breathe out slowly. As you breathe in, feel the energy flowing up along your back to your crown. Let the flow circulate three times in this direction.
Now imagine that the energy is collecting at your feet, and let it flow slowly up through the center of your body, from your feet to your crown, so that it radiates like a fountain of light from your crown, and then flows down outside your body to your feet. Repeat this a few times, or as long as you want. When you end this meditation you will be deeply relaxed but at the same time full of energy and cheerful.
